What does the airline owe me for their missed connection

What does the airline owe me for their missed connection?
If I miss my International flight due to a ground hold in Pittsburgh, what does Delta owe me? Flying Pittsburgh to Dublin. JFK flight to DUB leaves 9pm; not much else going to Europe much later than my flight. My connecting flight from PIT to JFK is ranked 0.4 on an On-Time scale of 5.

If it is due to something for which the airline is at fault, such as maintenance or personnel issues, then the airline will rebook you on the next available flight and will typically put you up in a hotel if necessary. If it is due to something out of the airline's control, such as weather or general airport delays, then they aren't as obligated. They will typically rebook you onto the next available flight without any additional charge though. Beware that "next available flight" does not mean "next flight." If the next flight leaving is full, you may be placed on standby for it, but won't be guaranteed a seat. They will give you a confirmed seat on the next flight on which there is an open seat available.

If the delay was due to weather or an ATC hold, Delta owes you nothing. These delays were beyond their control and not their fault. Ground hold is usually an ATC hold, which means Air Traffic Control ordered them to hold for some reason. The only obligation they have is to rebook you on another flight with room for you.
