Why can't I get the direct flight info when I specifically check the box with 0 connections?
They show me flights from Chicago to Pittsburgh to New York to Seattle when I know that there are direct flights from Chicago to Seattle. It's stupid to fly east only to fly west and spend 12 hours getting to Seattle.

because the airlines that they showed don't have direct flights to and from those sites.

They may not have enough people going to Seattle from that terminal. In order to get enough people to justify the cost of the flight they have to do connections to pick up the extra people.

It sounds like you're looking for a nonstop on an airline that doesn't fly that route nonstop, or there are no seats available on the nonstop flight(s) on the date you're looking at, or the nonstop flights depart at a different time of day than you said you wanted, or you said you wanted the lowest fare and so that's what it's showing you. But all anyone can do is offer guesses, without knowing what website you're dealing with and exactly what you have entered.

United and American Airlines should have non-stop flights from Chicago to Seattle. Have you checked the airline's website? Maybe the seats are sold out on all the non-stop flights. Airlines have been cutting flights so it is possible that the few non-stop flights have been sold out and there are only connecting flights available.
